Movies are the most prominent source of entertainment across the globe. Almost all of us go to the theatres whenever a new exciting film is released. It sure is the best way to kill that boring weekend of yours. As the time passes by, the number of viewers is increasing rapidly. Due to this, box office collection of these movies has also grown exponentially.
In our recent interview with Robert Simonds in Hollywood Reporter, he told us that he will surely make a movie that would acquire a spot on the list of highest grossing films of all times. But, as of now, we have listed the top ten grossing movies of all times. However, just keep in mind that this list is not as per the adjustments to the inflation. So, let’s start.
- Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Released in 2017, this movie is considered to be one of the Disney Classics which really enchanted the box office spectators. The film is led by Emma Watson and Dan Stevens. The movie made $1,259,861,542 worldwide.
- Frozen (2013)
Frozen was an exalted box office money-spinner. It was the first full-length animated movie by Disney to win the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature Film. Frozen made almost $1,287,000,000 worldwide.
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (2011)
When a film is based on one of Rowling’s books, everyone knows that it is going to be a hit. But this movie went beyond anyone’s predictions and made around $1,341,511,219 and became the highest grossing movie of the Harry Potter Series.
- Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)
Sequel to the 2012 movie ‘The Avengers,’ this movie had eyes on it from the moment its trailer was released. The Avengers was an amazing movie, probably the best superhero movie of all times, and it already made a base for this movie’s humongous collection. This movie made a whopping $1,405,403,694 across the globe.
- Furious 7 (2015)
After the death of Paul Walker, who was killed in a car crash on November 30, 2013, fans all over the world went gaga over the release of the Seventh movie of the Fast and Furious franchise. Everybody wanted to bid farewell to the legendary actor which resulted in making the Furious 7 one of the highest grossing movies of all times. The total collection of Furious 7 was around $1,516,045,911 worldwide.
- The Avengers (2012)
Released in 2012, ‘The Avengers’ is one of the greatest superhero movies of all times. The movie had all the factors that make up a good movie including a great cast and an amazing story containing gods and alien invasion. It’s amazing that both of the movies of ‘The Avengers’ series are on our list, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ also makes it to this list.

- Jurassic World (2015)
Jurassic World was the fourth movie of the Jurassic Park franchise. I think the biggest reason for its huge collection of $1,671,713,208 was the 90’s kids who wanted relive their childhood one more time.
- Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)
Star Wars has one of the biggest fanbases around the world, and it’s no surprise that this movie is third on our list. Star Wars made a massive collection of $2,068,223,624.
- Titanic (1997)
Directed by the perfectionist, James Cameron, Titanic had a production value of $200 Million which was more than the cost of the original RMS Titanic itself. However, the cost finally paid off when it became the highest grossing movie of all times (dethroned by the movie at #1 on our list). Titanic grossed around $2,186,772,302 around the world.
- Avatar (2009)
Avatar is at #1 on our list, and it is also directed by the amazingly creative director, Mr. James Cameron. This movie is a space fantasy about a paralysed soldier who gets into the body of an alien and ends up falling in love with an alien princess. This movie had the best Visual effects, and its release in 3D made it even more astonishing.
Avatar sits on the top of our list with a whopping collection of $ 2,787,965,087.
